Making Your Floral Arrangements Last Longer
As the "Rose Experts" we pride ourselves on the quality and selection of our plants, fresh cut flowers and floral arrangements. Most floral arrangements last from four to seven days. With just a little extra care, you can add to the life of your arrangement. Here's how:
- Keep the vase filled or floral foam soaked with water containing flower food. Every two or three days, re-cut the stems, change the water and add flower food. If you're out of food, use some sugar. For each gallon of water, add one teaspoon of sugar and two drops of liquid bleach.
- Remove any leaves below the waterline.
- Keep flowers in a cool spot (65 to 72 F) and away from direct sunlight. Avoid vents, ceiling fans, televisions or radiators which can cause flowers to dehydrate.
