Stirrings Voluntarily Recalls Mojito Rimmer Cocktail Garnish

Product may be contaminated with Salmonella

ST. LOUIS – Stirrings has issued a voluntary recall of its 4.5-oz packages of Rimmer Brand Mojito Cocktail Garnish because the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. Although Stirrings tests of finished product samples were negative for the presence of Salmonella, parsley powder, one of several ingredients supplied by Van de Vries Spice Corporation, tested positive for Salmonella.

Customers are urged to check for the product with UPC: 7-80999-00046 and one of the following best-buy codes:

The presence of Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi may return the specified product to their nearest store for a full refund or exchange.
