Kraft Foods Recalls Baker’s Premium White Chocolate
Baking Squares
Product may be contaminated with Salmonella
Customers are urged to check for the product with UPC: 04300025220 and one of the
following best when used by dates:
31 MAR 2008 XCZ
01 APR 2008 XCZ
02 APR 2008 XCZ
03 APR 2008 XCZ
The presence of Salmonella can cause serious and
sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and
others with weakened immune systems.
Healthy persons infected with salmonella often experience fever
diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
The potential for contamination was noted after testing
by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that detected the presence of
Salmonella in some packages of the aforementioned product. The company is aggressively investigating the
source of the problem. No other
varieties of Baker’s White Chocolate or any other Baker’s products sold in the
Schnucks and Logli customers in
