Illinois Firm Recalls Beef and Chicken Base Products Due To Undeclared Allergens

Products were used in Schnucks Meal Creations Cabernet Beef Recipe

ST. LOUIS – Custom Culinary, Inc., an Oswego, Ill., is recalling beef and chicken base products because they may contain undeclared allergens. The beef base, used in the Schnucks Meal Creations recipe, Cabernet Beef with Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, contains milk and soy which are known allergens. These allergens were not shown on the label.

Further, Custom Culinary says jars of the beef base product may be mislabeled as chicken base again, with no allergens declared on the label.

FSIS has received no reports of illness due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an allergic reaction should contact a physician.

Schnucks Meal Creations customers may return the Cabernet Beef product to the facility for a replacement recipe or full refund. However, customers who are NOT allergic to milk or soy, are not at risk. Please note that these products were not used to make any other food recipe at Schnucks.
