Cibo Naturals Issues Allergy Alert of Classic Basil Pesto

Cibo Naturals of Seattle, Wash. is issuing an allergy alert on Classic Basil Pesto because they may contain pine nuts (tree nuts). People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to pine nuts run the risk of allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Customers are urged to check for the six-ounce container with UPC: 2200911603 and one of the following lot codes: 34007344, 34007345 or 34007346. There have been no illnesses reported with the consumption of this product.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that product containing pine nuts was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of pine nuts. A subsequent investigation indicated the problem resulted from a process deviation in mixing procedures.

Schnucks and Logli customers may return the specified product to their nearest store for a full refund.
