New Des Peres is a Food Experience!

Our new Des Peres store opened on September 15, 2009 offering a unique opportunity for grocery shopping and food education.  The 74,000 square foot combination food and pharmacy store is like no other Schnucks store.  You’ll find new décor, lighting, wider aisles and the same quality grocery and pharmacy products and services you would expect to find at your local Schnucks.  You’ll also find many new and exciting amenities have been added.  Included are a Kaldi’s Coffee Shop with WiFi connections, a new cheese room with wine display, a walk-in beer cave cooler, an aged beef cooler, Schnucks Cooks demonstration station, two restaurant counter seating areas and a table-top kitchen house wares department. 

You’ll want to explore the Fresco Island for many convenient food services such as made-to-order sandwiches, salad and pizza stations and hot and cold food bars.  You’ll find Artesian Breads, Boar’s Head deli and Chef’s Express items showcased in beautiful new fixtures that will entice you to shop and select from a wide variety freshly prepared item. 

Located on the mezzanine level is the new Schnucks Cooks Cooking School.  This is a state of the art kitchen and classroom that will offer hands-on instructions on everything from meal preparation to party planning.  Classes have been developed that will appeal to all ages and skill levels.  You’ll find more information on our cooking school at www/schnuckscooks.com/cookingschool.

Store manager Steve Ryan is anxious for customers to take advantage of the very latest food industry trends.  He’s proud to call Des Peres a “green” store, as there are a number of sustainability concepts worked into the dramatic design.  An internal trash compactor, water saving fixtures and lighting throughout the store allow for energy management and conservation.  He’s sure the new Des Peres store will offer customers a fun and entertaining food experience.  Come visit us soon!
