Guidelines for Donation Requests

Schnucks is greatly involved in the community primarily through our support of major organizations such as the United Way and St. Louis Variety, the Children's Charity.

On a more grass-roots level, we try to be of modest assistance to the hundreds of other organizations operating in the neighborhoods of each market we serve. Although our resources are limited, we try our best to help as many groups as possible.

If your organization's mission is directly tied to education or youth development, please check to see if you might qualify to receive funds through participation in our eScrip Community Card Program.

Requests for donations must be sent in writing on the official letterhead of the requesting organization. We must receive your request a minimum of four weeks in advance of the event or date of need.

All Requests must include the following for consideration:

• An overview of the organization and its purpose
• A detailed explanation of the proposed project or event
• A description of the specific donation desired
• Proof of the organization's 501(c)(3) not-for-profit tax exempt status
• Other funders or sources of funding or support.

Please note: Due to limited resources and the very large numbers of requests received, we are generally unable to support the following, except for some events and organizations with which there is personal involvement.

• Capital campaigns
• Golf tournaments
• Galas
• Individual Assistance or Fundraisers for Individuals (We are only able to support qualified agencies that provide assistance to individuals.)
• Third Parties (We directly support many not-for-profit organizations and we are unable to also provide resources for others who are raising money for these same organizations.)
• Seminars, conferences, employee recognition/appreciation events
• Reunions (Due to great need and limited resources, requests for social events typically cannot be fulfilled.)
• Governmental agencies that are supported by city, state, or federal tax dollars
