The national contest honored floral retailers who created outstanding displays portraying an everyday garden-theme with the goal of generating floral sales during a non-holiday period. Contest entries were judged on accessibility, color harmony, sensory appeal, signage and overall effectiveness.
"We were very excited to win because we had been a small chain of three stores competing with large national retailers," said Logli Floral Manager Diane Kozel. "We work as a team and couldn't have done it without the whole staff getting involved and without the support of our store manager."
The Logli team winning the honors included Kozel, Floral Designers Cindy Deisinger and Cath Gasiorowski, and Sales Associates Ngoc Nguyen and Barb Andrews. Dave Sherman is manager of the East State Street store.
"We are very proud our associates are being recognized for their talents, creativity and dedication to outstanding quality and service," said Joseph W. Logli, president of Logli Supermarkets. "We know our customers appreciate our associates' efforts to create an exciting and interesting shopping experience."
The Logli team assembled a gazebo display. Each corner of the gazebo featured a themed vignette and included candles, flowers, potpourri, wicker display pieces and was highlighted by nature sounds from a tape player.
"We wanted to inspire our customers and show them how to incorporate merchandise in their homes," said Kozel.
"The contest was developed to recognize the hard work done by floral managers and departments to increase floral consumption," said Amanda McManigal, associate editor of Super Flroal magazine. This is the first year for the contest.
