Schnuck Markets Named One of the Nation's Top Five
Supermarket Video Rental Operations for Second Consecutive Year
ST. LOUIS - For the second consecutive year, Schnuck Markets Inc. has been ranked the nation's fourth largest supermarket video operations in the country, according to the national retail trade weekly, Supermarket News. The ranking is based on revenues, merchandising aggressiveness and creativity.
Schnucks maintained its high ranking because of "its strong marketing, leadership with the DVD format, its several stand-alone video stores and a marketing program that is successfully combating the market-share grab by video specialty chains," according to the publication.
"We're committed to the video business and we always strive to give our customers the newest things to satisfy their entertainment needs," said Denis Oldani, director of video operations for Schnucks. "We're pleased Supermarket News has chosen us as one of the leaders. That is something we strive to be for our customers."
Schnucks continues to increase its offering of DVD video and video games such as SONY Playstation and Nintendo 64. At all Schnucks video departments, if a guaranteed movie is not available, the movie is free on the customer's next visit.
Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 91 stores in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. The family-owned company was founded in St. Louis in 1939.
