kicks off an all-new, second season on KETC, St. Louis and nationwide
Father Dominic Garramone, a lively, witty 39-year-old Benedictine monk with his own nationally televised cooking show on public television, has a simple tonic for today's stressed-out and disconnected society. Bake bread.
In order to kick off the all-new second season of the popular public television series, Breaking Bread with Father Dominic, (KETC/Channel 9, St. Louis, Saturdays at 12:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 7, 2000), fans of the popular cooking series will get the chance to meet its inspiring host at Schnucks on the Plaza in Frontenac.
From 10:30 - Noon on Oct. 7, 2000, Father Dominic will be appearing in the bakery section of Schnucks on the Plaza at Clayton and Lindbergh Roads in Frontenac, MO.
Father Dominic will be demonstrating how to create two delectable sweet breads - jam-filled Lattice Braid and Date and Raisin Tea Ring - from his versatile Basic Sweet Dough recipe featured in the show's second season. And of course, no baking lesson from Father Dom would be complete without some funny and heart-warming stories from "Papa Dom."
After the demonstration, Father Dominic will be on-hand to meet customers and answer questions about baking bread. In addition, the first 250 guests will receive a free 60-minute instructional video, "The Basics of Making Bread with Father Dominic," complements of the event's sponsor, Fleischmann's Yeast. All guests will receive a free recipe card featuring the breads he will be demonstrating.
The event is free and no tickets are required.
