ST. LOUIS -- Schnuck Markets, Inc. has hired Dianna Pasley as director of food safety. This newly created position is an integral part of a company-wide food safety initiative that includes a special Food Safety Task Force launched 18 months ago.
Pasley brings with her more than 12 years of public health and safety experience. Most recently, she was supervisor of environmental services in the Jefferson County Health Department, which serves nearly 200,000 residents. Pasley supervised laboratories and a team of health inspectors working in the areas of research, industry regulations and grants. Her background includes positions as health inspector for Franklin and Gasconade counties and consultant for Enviropact Inc., formerly of
Pasley will be responsible for developing company-wide guidelines and internal regulatory procedures that will impact not only Schnucks stores but also virtually every step of the retail grocery process from manufacturing and distribution to the sale of food products. In addition, she will help coordinate Schnucks food safety initiatives with those of local, state and federal regulatory agencies.

Pasley will join forces with an internal Food Safety Task Force designed to raise public and employee awareness and coordinate training throughout the company.
Pasley earned a bachelor of science degree in life science along with a minor in chemistry from the University of Missouri - Rolla. She recently completed a master's degree in business administration at Webster University in St. Louis. Pasley is a part-time coach for the Washington University women's basketball team.
Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 91 stores in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana. The family-owned company was founded in St. Louis in 1939.
