JANESVILLE, Wis. - Today, representatives of Schnuck Markets, Inc., announced the recent purchase of the Milton Avenue Pharmacy business in Janesville. Schnucks, a St. Louis-based company, has hired pharmacy owner Dennis Dawiedczyk, R. Ph. (Da-vee-check) and his 15-person staff to operate an in-store facility in the company's new Logli grocery store scheduled to open Tuesday, May 14.
According to Logli Store Manager Heidi Thomas, the Milton Avenue Pharmacy will transfer all prescription records to the Schnucks Pharmacy upon opening. The pharmacy will continue to operate at its present location until the new store opens across the street at 1501 Creston Park Drive.
Thomas explained, "I am very excited to welcome Dennis and his staff to Logli. They will help round out the team of associates we've selected from the Janesville community over the past few weeks." She added, "We are all looking forward to the opportunity to deliver the type of quality, variety and service to the Janesville area that our neighbors in Illinois have come to expect from Logli and Schnucks stores."
The new partnership joins two families in business and continues a 30-year tradition of service excellence for the Janesville community. Dawiedczyk said, "It's a good move for us and, I believe, a win-win situation for everyone involved." He added, "Our new arrangement allows my staff and me to continue serving our loyal customers while providing them with some very valuable service extras, including the option of their prescriptions filled while they shop for groceries." Dawiedczyk also confirmed that Logli would honor his family's tradition of providing pharmacy delivery services and on-line ordering.
Currently, and following the move, customers may reach the Milton Avenue Pharmacy staff at (608) 752-7431. The pharmacy hours will be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 90 stores (four operate under the Logli name) and 81 in-store pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois and Indiana including a Sentry Drug Store in Illinois. The family-owned company was founded in St. Louis in 1939.
