Schnucks Makes Gift Giving Easier

Holiday Gift Cards are "One Size Fits All" Gifts for All Ages

ST. LOUIS -- This holiday season, Schnucks customers can fill family members' stockings with video/DVD rentals, home décor products, gift baskets - and even a holiday dinner with all the trimmings! Thanks to the new Schnucks Gift Card, holiday shopping just got easier and a lot more fun!

Schnucks Gift Cards are now available for purchase at checkout registers. The cards are non-denominational and can be assigned any amount over $1 up to $250 per card. Cards are activated at the register, and the value assigned to the card will be added to the customer's grocery total.

The cards come in two holiday styles and are designed to appeal to all ages. Once assigned a dollar value, the card can be used to purchase any item in the store. "It's a fast and convenient way to ensure that gift recipients get what they really want and need during the holidays and throughout the year," said Craig D. Schnuck, chairman and chief executive officer of Schnuck Markets, Inc.

Gift cards are easy to use. When a card user makes a purchase with the card, the amount of purchase is electronically deducted from the card's assigned value. Customers can use them again and again until the total value of the card has been spent. They can also check the card's remaining balance by going to the Schnucks web site, or by calling the toll free number on the back of the card.

Gift cards make great "thank you" gifts for mail carriers, babysitters, teachers, college students and others on the holiday shopping list.

The cards currently are available for individual customer use and are replacing the company's paper gift certificates. Schnucks also offers a gift card program designed to support business-to-business, incentive and fund raising activities.

Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 102 stores and 93 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Mississippi. This includes five stores that operate as Logli Supermarkets and a stand-alone Sentry drug store. Schnuck Markets, Inc. is currently ranked 83rd on Family Business Magazine's list of 150 largest family companies.
