Schnucks Bakeries Introduce Sugar-Free Cheesecake

New Dessert Ideal for Dieters Watching Carbohydrate Intake

ST. LOUIS - In an effort to expand the selection of foods for dieters watching their sugar and carbohydrate intake, Schnucks bakeries are introducing new Adam Matthews Low-Carb Sugar-Free Cheesecake.

The 32 oz. non-sliced cheesecake can be divided into 10 slices with only three net carbs per serving and will retail for $12.99. According to Bakery Category Manager Kevin McFadden, this dessert is an important addition to the bakery lineup. "This cheesecake will address the needs of two groups of customers - those looking for good tasting sugar-free desserts and those on popular carbohydrate-restricting diets," McFadden said.

McFadden added, "Following the introduction of low in carb products like the Adam Matthews Cheesecake, Atkins approved Brownberry Carb Counting wheat breads and Sara Lee's Delightful breads, dieting customers no longer have to deprive themselves of delicious bakery items." Schnucks customers will find additional information on low in carb products at www.schnucks.com.

Customers will find Adam Matthews Cheesecakes in the bakery freezer section of their neighborhood Schnucks store. More information is available at www.adammatthews.com.

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc currently operates 100 stores (including five Logli stores) and 93 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee and Mississippi.
