Schnucks Recalls Sausage Processed Feb. 14 at Telegraph Store

ST. LOUIS -- Schnuck Markets, Inc. has issued a recall on 17 packages of sausages processed Monday, Feb. 14, at its Telegraph store at 5519 Oakville Shopping Center. The recalled packages, printed with a "sell by" date of Feb. 19, may contain small pieces of plastic.

A Schnucks associate discovered the potential problem during a routine inspection. There have been no consumer complaints. Cy Jansen, Schnucks vice president of meat operations, says 10 packages of salsiccia Italian sausage, four (4) beer brats and three (3) bratwurst may have been affected. As an added precaution, Jansen encourages any customer who purchased Schnucks brand sausage from the Telegraph store anytime on Monday, Feb. 14 to return the packages for a full refund.

This is an isolated incident and no other stores are involved in this recall. Customers with questions can call Schnucks' Consumer Affairs department at 314-994-4400 or 800-264-4400.
