Schnucks Stores Gear Up for First Day of Cardinals Ticket Sales

New Cardinals ticketing system will help Schnucks provide fans with faster access to tickets

ST. LOUIS - On Saturday, March 5 at 8 a.m., individual game tickets for the 2005

St. Louis Cardinals season will go on sale at select Schnucks stores across the St. Louis Metropolitan area. Cardinal fans may also purchase tickets via telephone, on-line or at Cardinal Clubhouse stores at Union Station, St. Louis Galleria and St. Clair Square.

Schnucks is a traditional Cardinal ticket outlet, but according to Schnucks Director of Video Denis Oldani, this year stores are gearing up for larger crowds. "Excitement is building over this final, farewell season at Busch Stadium, and consequently, the Cardinals report that ticket sales to season ticket holders, groups and special promotions are off to a fast start. We expect that the individual ticket sales will be equally popular," he said.

"In addition, the Cardinals have decided not to sell tickets at Busch Stadium on Saturday, which will likely send more people our way. (The stadium offices will resume walk-up sales on Sunday, March 6.) On Saturday and throughout the season, Schnucks is pleased to offer 33 convenient locations in the metro area to help make baseball ticket purchasing easier," said Oldani. Seven Schnucks stores outside the metro area are also authorized ticket agents.

Also new this year, the Cardinals have instituted a new ticketing system that includes state-of-the art features that Oldani hopes will translate to faster moving lines and faster access to tickets. Oldani said, "At Schnucks, we will do our best to move the lines quickly for our ticket purchasers, but we will be working just as hard to ensure that our grocery customers are not inconvenienced. To that end, we have directed store management not to allow lines to form until 6 a.m., two hours in advance of sales."

Starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Cardinals fans will be able to purchase tickets through the team's website (, over the telephone (314-421-2400) or in person at the Video Clubs or courtesy counter at select Schnucks locations. Oldani says, "On the first day, we will sell tickets from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. After that, the ticket hours will be 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily at all participating Schnucks locations. You will find details on signs at participating Schnucks stores."

Fans also may check online at for information about ticket sales and game schedules or call the Schnucks Ticket Hot Line at 314-994-4544 for location information only.
