Unilever Recalls Bertolli Frozen Meatballs Carried at Schnucks and Logli

ST. LOUIS - Unilever United States, Inc. of Englewood Cliffs, N.J. has recalled several lots of Bertolli frozen Meatballs Pomodoro & Penne with peppers and onions in a tomato basil sauce - Complete Skillet Meals for Two because the product may contain egg white lysozyme, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label.

There is a remote possibility that people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg white lysozyme may experience adverse health consequences if they consume this product. To date, the company has received no reports of adverse reactions from consumers allergic to egg white lysozyme.

Consumers are urged to check their freezers for the frozen meatballs in a 24 oz. foil bag with both UPC# 3620021111 and one of the following used by dates:

DEC 23 06 JAN 04 07 FEB 03 07

FEB 15 07

Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa may return the specified product to their nearest Schnucks or Logli store for a full refund.
