Schnucks Promotes Mittendorf to Director of Continuous Improvement
ST. LOUIS - Christine (Chris) Mittendorf, 36, was recently promoted to director of Continuous Improvement at Schnuck Markets, Inc.
Reporting to Todd Schnuck, executive vice president, Mittendorf will be responsible for Internal Audit, Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement companywide.
Mittendorf earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 1992. Following graduation, she joined St. Louis-based auditing firm Arthur Andersen LLP where she gained experience in both continuous improvement and financial/internal controls. In her position as manager of Business Risk and Process Consulting, she worked for some of the firm's top clients.
Mittendorf joined Schnuck Markets, Inc. as director of Internal Audit in 2002 and guided a team of six professionals in efforts to improve processes, identify risks and help the organization achieve its objectives. In August of 2004, she was tapped to lead a new initiative called the Continuous Improvement process.
Much like the auditing function at Schnucks, the continuous improvement process encourages the on-going development of proficiencies in process enhancement and goal achievement while better tracking and managing company, human and product resources.
Mittendorf and her husband, Patrick, have two sons and reside in south St. Louis County.
Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 102 stores (including five Logli stores) and 99 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
