Schnucks Missouri Stores Offer Tax-Free Weekend for Back-to-School Shoppers

ST. LOUIS - Customers at Schnucks stores in Missouri will save on school supplies during the annual "Missouri No Sales Tax Holiday" weekend. All customers will save at a minimum the state's portion of the tax rate (4.225%). In municipalities, which are also participating, the savings will be even greater. The savings start at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 4th through midnight August 6th.

Throughout the weekend, supply items such as notebooks, folders, pens, art supplies and clothes, some already at Price Breaker low prices, will hold an additional savings on taxes. In some communities, customers will be able to save up to $7.85 for every one hundred dollars spent. In accordance with state regulations, school supply items are tax-free up to $50 per total purchase. Clothing is eligible up to $100 per item. Groceries are not eligible under this promotion.

In addition to the No-Tax Holiday, Schnucks and Keebler are partnering on a back-to-school promotion. The purchase of four Keebler products (look for details in store) will earn customers five dollars off on school supplies! Customers are advised to ask at their local Schnucks store before the holiday to find out if their municipality is also participating.

Some cities and counties in Missouri will not be participating in the sales tax holiday. Therefore, some of the Missouri locations will continue to charge the applicable city/county sales tax during the holiday period.
