Schnucks Promotes Two In Human Resources Department

ST. LOUIS - Donald (Don) G. Schaper, 46, has been promoted to director of labor relations at Schnuck Markets, Inc., following Robert (Bob) J. Flacke's retirement after 16 years of service.

In his new position, Schaper will report to Janice Rhodes, vice president of human resources. He will have responsibility for the company's labor relations, contract negotiations and contract administration throughout the company's 102 stores, warehouses and support facilities.

Schaper joined Schnucks in 1995 as a labor relations specialist with the National supermarkets acquisition. He was later promoted to manager of labor relations before moving to his current position. He began his career in the grocery business as a bagger for Kroger supermarkets in 1976. In his new capacity, Schaper will join company leaders on the executive operations review group.

Schaper and his wife, Marsha, have two children, Julie and Alex. The family resides in O'Fallon, Mo.

Kramer Named Director of Personnel at Schnucks

Jenise Lynn Kramer, 50, formerly manager of personnel compliance & counseling, has been promoted to director of personnel at Schnucks also reporting to Janice Rhodes.

In her new position, Kramer will oversee personnel operations and coordinate activities including the hiring and movement of more than 15,000 associates throughout the company's 102 stores, warehouses and support facilities. She will also ensure the company's adherence to state and federal compliance regulations and laws governing employment.

Kramer first joined Schnucks in 1972 as a food service worker in the restaurants then located within the Florissant and Grandview stores. From 1974 through 1976, she worked as a checker before transitioning to general merchandise where she rose to management. She entered the personnel office in 1980 as a specialist, and over the past 26 years, Kramer has gained experience in virtually all departments within Human Resources including employment, labor relations, compliance and counseling.

Kramer received both her masters in education counseling and her bachelor of science in administrator of justice from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.

Kramer and her husband, Bob, have two children, Hannah and Ashley. The family resides in Wentzville, Mo.

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 102 stores (including five Logli stores) and 99 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
