Hampton Village Schnucks Recalls Ground Beef Processed October 30

The affected beef has a sell-by date of Nov. 1

ST. LOUIS - Schnuck Markets, Inc. has issued a voluntary recall on packages of ground beef sold today, Monday, October 30 at its Hampton Village store at 60 Hampton Village Plaza in South St. Louis city. The recalled packages, printed with a "sell by" date of November 1, may contain pieces of a small metal clip.

There have been no reports of injury or illness. All varieties of ground beef were removed from the meat cases and the grinding equipment was inspected, cleaned and sanitized before production resumed.

Schnucks officials encourage any customer who purchased ground beef from the Hampton Village store today with the sell-by date of Nov. 1 to return the packages for a full refund or exchange.

This is an isolated incident. No other stores are involved in this recall. Customers with questions can call the Schnucks Consumer Affairs department at 314-994-4400 or 800-264-4400.
