Schnucks Twin Oaks Replacement Store to Open Jan. 30

TWIN OAKS, Mo. - Residents of Twin Oaks and surrounding communities will soon be able to shop at their brand new 63,000-square-foot Schnucks store. The new store, scheduled to open Tuesday, Jan. 30 at 9 a.m., is located at 1393 Big Bend Road and will replace the previous Twin Oaks store which will close permanently at midnight on Monday, Jan. 29. The new store will be open 24 hours.

According to Schnucks Chairman and CEO Scott Schnuck, the new facility will have several amenities not only new to Twin Oaks but also new to Schnucks. "The new store offers an additional 7,000 square feet of space and we are putting that space to good use for our customers! For instance, we are very proud to offer the first, in-store Kaldi's coffee bar featuring distinct coffees and espressos, fresh fruit smoothies, fresh baked donuts from our bakery and an internet connected Wi-Fi hot spot," said Schnuck.

Another first for Schnucks will be a Sandwich Express made-to-order sandwich bar in the deli and a seafood soup and shrimp bar in the seafood department. Schnuck said, "At the start, the shrimp will be offered in a variety of flavors such as Maryland blend, Cajun and ethnic blend, and we hope to add more."

Store Manager Claude Vermaux says that his team is prepared for the move and ready to serve customers. "Our store team is excited for our customers to see the additional foods and service concepts not only new to our store, but to our company," Vermaux said. "Many of these value-added services will be shared with other Schnucks stores so we are pleased to be able to showcase them in our community."

The previous 56,000-square-foot Twin Oaks store was acquired by Schnucks in the National acquisition in 1995.

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 101 stores (including five Logli stores) and 98 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.
