Menu Foods Recalls Select Cans Of Schnucks Brand Cat And Dog Food

ST. LOUIS - Menu Foods, of Emporia, Kan., has issued a recall on select cans of Schnucks brand Cat and Dog Food. Menu's products are distributed to supermarkets, pet specialty stores and mass merchandisers across the United States. There have been a small number of reported instances of cats and dogs becoming sick from kidney failure after eating the affected products. There have been approximately ten pet deaths reported.

Schnucks and Logli stores are urging customers to check for the following Schnucks pet food products:

Schnucks and Logli customers in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi may return the specified products to their nearest store for a full refund.

Menu Foods voluntarily recalled the products after learning of complaints of vomiting and renal failure in dogs and cats following their consumption of products produced between Dec. 3, 2006 and March 7, 2007. If your dog or cat is showing any signs of kidney failure, consult your veterinarian.
