Toroian Joins Schnucks Food Education Team As Food Writer And Information Specialist
ST. LOUIS - Leaders of Schnuck
Markets, Inc. today announced that Rosanne
Toroian has been hired as food editor and information specialist. She will report to Kathy Gottsacker, director of food
education and culinary arts, in the marketing and merchandising department.
As members of the Schnucks
Food Education Team, Toroian and Gottsacker will develop food and cooking education and
training programs designed to enhance the food experience of customers and
associates in stores across the company.
Health and wellness will also be an emphasis as company associates work
to share their expertise with customers.
Toroian
comes to Schnucks from Good Housekeeping
magazine in New York, N.Y. where she was employed as associate food
editor where her responsibilities included developing content for the food
section. Toroian
also created, tested and edited her original recipes for publication,
supervised the test kitchen and executed food styling.
Before
Good Housekeeping, Toroian worked as
a consultant for the Charlie Palmer Group of New York helping to establish a small
specialty food store; she also held positions as personal chef and
caterer. She honed her culinary skills
at Tabla - Danny
Meyer's critically acclaimed restaurant in Manhattan.
Toroian
earned a bachelor's degree in Russian with a minor in French from Washington University
in St. Louis in
1993. After graduating, she settled in New York to pursue a
career in the culinary arts. In 1998 she
entered the French Culinary Institute where she studied French technique in
classic culinary and pastry arts.
Founded
in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc.
operates 101 stores (including five Logli stores) and 98 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.
