Schnucks and instaClinic Open First Retail Health Clinic in St. Louis City

ST. LOUIS - Schnucks and instaClinic have partnered to open the first retail health clinic within St. Louis City. Located in the recently remodeled Schnucks at 4171 Lindell Blvd., this location will provide area residents and employers with convenient and affordable healthcare plus wellness programs for both adults and children.

The St. Louis family owners and nurse practitioners of the newest Schnucks instaClinic at Lindell will host an Open House at that location on Saturday, May 19 from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. with give-aways and games for children. This is the fourth of four in-store clinics in the initial rollout planned for St. Louis metro area Schnucks stores.

Patricia Sohn, nurse practitioner and president of instaClinic, said, "Over the past six months, the nurse practitioners at our instaClinic locations have been providing patients with one-on-one service and quality healthcare. People are pleased that there is now a way to get treatment for minor ailments when their primary providers' offices are closed." Sohn and her team are encouraging mid-city employers to stop in at Schnucks to find out how the comprehensive services of instaClinic can help their employees supplement healthcare options and decrease healthcare costs.

The nurse practitioners of instaClinic provide diagnosis, treatment and write prescriptions when necessary for common illnesses. A focus is placed on wellness and prevention through immunizations and health screenings. To ensure continuity of care, the experienced professionals of instaClinic work closely with the local medical community referring patients for further care when needed.

Because of the strong community response, instaClinic is recruiting more nurse practitioners for its staff. Several more instaClinic locations are being planned across the region. Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. currently operates 101 stores (including five Logli stores) and 98 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Mississippi and Iowa.
