Remodel Nears Completion For Kirkwood Schnucks Customers

KIRKWOOD, Mo. – Kirkwood Schnucks customers soon will have several more reasons to shop at the store located at 10233 Manchester Road as the full-scale remodel nears completion. The 60,000-square-foot store opened to customers in 1987 and was last remodeled in 1995.

According to new Kirkwood store manager and 37-year Schnucks veteran Dave Sweet, customers will immediately notice the new improvements and amenities. “Our shoppers will be receiving what amounts to a brand new store,” Sweet said. “We are upgrading, updating and remodeling each and every department.”

Sweet says customers will notice the biggest changes in the perishable sections of the store. The deli and prepared foods department will now feature a fresh soup kiosk, a Sandwich Express bar, an olive bar and a cheese island. Another new feature to the deli will be the addition of the renowned Boar’s Head Deli meats. While the seafood department will receive a seafood soup and shrimp bar.

The bakery department will be expanded and offerings increased to include unique pastry and dessert offerings. After picking up their sweets, customers also will be able to grab a fresh cup of Kaldi’s Coffee at the new in-store kiosk that will have a seating area and Wi-Fi capabilities.

The store will be the third Schnucks to feature the new “Schnucks Cooks” concept (stations are now in Twin Oaks and Woods Mill Schnucks stores). In live demonstrations, coaches will create dishes and serve samples. Customers will have the convenience of purchasing all the ingredients for spotlighted recipes right at the station, and they will leave with a better understanding of various cooking methods.

Sweet said, “We have received many compliments from customers who recognize how hard our associates have worked to minimize inconvenience. Now, as we all prepare for stocking up and cooking those holiday meals, I am sure we will find that the remodel has resulted in a store that is family friendly and easier to shop.”

Schnucks has served Kirkwood area customers since 1954.

Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 102 stores (including five Logli stores) and 99 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.
