St. Lunatics Stop in at University City Schnucks to Promote Freaky Muscato Wine

A sparking white wine with a whole lot of personality!

UNIVERSITY CITY, Mo. – On Saturday, Jan. 29, from 4 – 6 p.m., Kyjuan and Murphy Lee of the hip hop group the St. Lunatics will appear at the University City Schnucks (6920 Olive Blvd, 63130) to promote and sign bottles of their new muscato wine dubbed Freaky.

Schnucks customers will be able to purchase bottles of Freaky wine at the special sale price of $17.99 (reg. $20.69) and have them autographed.  Kyjuan and Murphy Lee will also autograph their fans’ St. Lunatics CDs and pose for photos (time permitting).

Known as American Sparkling Wine, this fruity muscato is 11.5% alcohol by volume and is produced by Crown Valley Winery of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.  “Sweet wines are usually 8.5 or 9 percent alcohol by volume so this selection is a little unusual – or freaky – some may say,” said Freaky Director Joe Scott III.  “This wine appeals to all types of people who happen to approach life to the fullest and enjoy walking outside the circle.”

Schnucks Category Manager and Certified Specialist of Wine Chris Wong says that Freaky will soon be available at several Schnucks locations in the St. Louis area.  “The St. Lunatics are so connected with University City we wanted to launch the muscato in that community first.  However, given the popularity of the St. Lunatics and Crown Valley Winery’s reputation for producing quality wines, we anticipate Freaky could quickly gain a larger following,” Wong said.

Originally from St. Louis, the St. Lunatics came together in 1993.  They released their debut album, Free City, in 2001 featuring the hits “Summer in the City” and “Midwest Swing.”  For more information on Freaky muscato, please visit
