St. Lunatics Celebrate Launch of Freaky Wine at Two Area Schnucks Stores
Hip hop celebrities Kyjuan and Murphy Lee will autograph bottles of their new wine
ST. LOUIS – On Wednesday, May 18 and Thursday, May 19, Kyjuan and Murphy Lee of the hip hop group the St. Lunatics will appear at the Cross Keys and Sierra Vista Schnucks stores respectively to sign bottles of their new muscato wine dubbed “Freaky.”
Wednesday, May 18, Cross Keys Schnucks, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., 13987 New Halls Ferry, Florissant, Mo. 63033, www.schnucks.com/stores/store.asp?store=198
Thursday, May 19, Sierra Vista Schnucks, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., 1589 Sierra Vista Plaza, St. Louis, Mo. 63138, www.schnucks.com/stores/store.asp?store=216
Schnucks customers will be able to purchase bottles of Freaky muscato at the sale price of $18.99 and have them autographed. Kyjuan and Murphy Lee will also autograph their fans’ St. Lunatics CDs and pose for photos.
Known as American Sparkling Wine, this fruity muscato is 11.5% alcohol by volume and is produced by Crown Valley Winery of Ste. Genevieve, Mo. “Sweet wines are usually 8.5 or 9 percent alcohol by volume so this selection is a little unusual – or freaky – some may say,” said Freaky Director Joe Scott III. “This wine appeals to all types of people who happen to approach life to the fullest and enjoy walking outside the circle.”
Schnucks Category Manager and Certified Specialist of Wine Chris Wong says his company began offering Freaky at the Schnucks in University City – the St. Lunatics hometown – earlier this year. “After receiving a great reception in University City, we began adding Freaky to several other stores. We appreciate that the Lunatics are taking time out their busy schedules to visit our stores and our guests,” Wong said.
Originally from St. Louis, the St. Lunatics came together in 1993. They released their debut album, Free City, in 2001 featuring the hits “Summer in the City” and “Midwest Swing.” For more information on Freaky Muscato, please visit www.drinkfreaky.com.
