Bloomington, Ill. Schnucks Recalls Selected Varieties of Beef Products Sold Noon - 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Schnuck Markets, Inc. has issued a precautionary recall on selected varieties of beef cuts sold between noon and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at its Bloomington, Ill. store at 1701 East Empire Street (61701).


Customers are urged to check for the following cuts of beef they may have purchased during that timeframe:


Sirloin Steak

Rib Eye Steak

Round Steak

Chuck Roast

Chuck Steak


At 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, metal shavings were discovered on the saw.  All affected product was immediately pulled from the sales floor and discarded.  This is a precautionary measure as no metal shavings were found in the pulled meat nor have there been any consumer reports.


All Bloomington Schnucks customers who purchased the cuts of meat during the indicated timeframe should return the product to the store for a full refund or exchange.  This is an isolated incident and no other stores are involved in this recall.
