Three Deli Salads Recalled from Select Schnucks, Logli and Hilander Stores
Gills Onions has recalled onions which were used to make three deli salads at 12 northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin Schnucks, Logli and Hilander stores. A random sample of the onions tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.
Customers at all Logli and Hilander stores in the Rockford, Ill. and Janesville, Wis. area as well Schnucks customers in DeKalb, Ill. should check for the following salads purchased from the stores’ delis.
Tomato Basil Salad
Tortellini Salad
Italian Pasta Salad
Any unused product may be return to the nearest store for a full refund.
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
