Missouri's First Lady to Launch Pink License Plate Initiative at Schnucks
ST. LOUIS – Schnucks associates company wide are preparing to “paint the stores pink” by bringing in hundreds of pink labeled products in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. To help kick things off, the Richmond Center Schnucks at 6600 Clayton Road (63117) will host Missouri’s First Lady Melanie Blunt on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m. Mrs. Blunt will introduce the Missouri Women’s Council’s Pink License Plate Program benefiting cancer treatments and research.
According to Schnucks Event Marketing Manager Jason Schnuck, applications for new pink license plates will be available at all metro Missouri area U.S. Bank locations. “You will see signs at all 106 area U.S. Bank facilities including our in-store branches,” said Schnuck. “Banking staff will provide applications for pink license plates (these can be mailed directly to the Women’s Council) and accept tax-deductible donations made payable to the ‘Friends of Missouri Women’s Council.’"
“The proceeds will help fund mammograms for women who are uninsured or under insured,” said Schnuck. “We can’t think of a better way to kick off our own awareness efforts then with a visit by Mrs. Blunt and representatives of the Women’s Council who are dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for women across Missouri.”
U.S. Bank’s Regional Chairman and St. Louis Market President Joe Imbs agreed and said, “U.S. Bank is proud to join with Schnucks and the Missouri Women’s Council by making it easy for everyone to get involved. Now, you can help in the fight against cancer just by sporting a pink license plate on your car or by buying a designated pink product.”
Throughout October, Schnucks stores across all markets will be sporting an extremely pink makeover! “Customers in all 103 Schnucks stores will notice pink packaging on popular, name brand products and Schnucks brand products. We hope to reinforce health and wellness by shining a spotlight on breast cancer awareness by encouraging early detection and treatment,” Schnuck said.
