Garden Fresh Recalls Dips; Schnucks Urges Customers to Return Affected Product

Maggie’s Dip in containers and used in prepared foods could contain Listeria monocytogenes

Garden Fresh Foods, Inc. of Milwaukee, Wis. has initiated a voluntary recall on ready-to-eat salads, slaw and dip products sold under various brands and code dates. The products may be contaminated with Listeria monocytongenes.  Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.

Schnucks confirms that product from the recalled batch may have been sold August 9 – September 23, 2013 at Schnucks stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa.  The St. Louis based-grocer is encouraging customers to return unused product for a full refund.

At Schnucks, this recall affects ONLY these two Maggie’s Dips sold between August 9 and September 23, 2013.  If you have purchased these container dips, please return unused portion to the nearest Schnucks store for a full refund:
