Let the Pastry Queen Show You How to Treat Holiday Guests Like Royalty
Schnucks stores welcome famed author Rebecca Rather
ST. LOUIS – Just in time to learn a few new holiday dessert recipes, Schnucks welcomes Rebecca Rather, nationally celebrated pastry chef and author of The Pastry Queen Christmas. Rather will be on hand to meet fans and sign her book at the Schnucks Cooks kiosks at the Woods Mill Schnucks store (1060 Woods Mill Road – 63017) on Dec. 11 from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m. and at the Clayton and Lindbergh store (10275 Clayton Road – 63124) on Dec. 12 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
At each event, Schnucks Cooks coaches will recreate one of Rather’s holiday recipes made famous at her Texas restaurant – The Rather Sweet Bakery and Café. Schnucks customers will have an opportunity to sample hot desserts right out of the oven and learn how Rather has cultivated such a loyal following in her home town of Fredericksburg, Texas.
Rather’s new cookbook, available at Schnucks for $32.50, features nearly 100 traditional holiday recipes offering a taste of small town Texas. Readers can learn to “wow” their holiday dinner guests with desserts like Chocolate Cookie Crusted Eggnog Cheesecake, Sticky Toffee Pudding with Brandy Butterscotch Sauce and Warm Pear Ginger Upside-Down Cake with Ameretto Whipped Cream. A self proclaimed “country girl,” Rather’s breakfast recipes include Bite-Sized Sticky Buns, Sweet Potato Scones, Cast Iron Skillet Potatoes and Mexican Ranch Chilaquiles.
The public is invited to stop by one of Rather’s events at Schnucks and learn how to treat their family and friends to a little bit of Texas this holiday season! And it’s also a perfect opportunity to pick up a copy of the brand new Schnucks Cooks magazine for the low price of 99¢ or complimentary with a $50 purchase.
Founded in St. Louis in 1939, Schnuck Markets, Inc. operates 105 stores (including five Logli stores) and 101 pharmacies in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi.
