Customers are invited to “summer school” on Saturday, June 20.
ST. LOUIS – The expert produce teams at Schnucks are ready for summer and excited to share their knowledge of the season’s most delicious fruit: gourmet summer melons! On Saturday, June 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Schnucks and Logli customers are invited to stop in for Frieda’s Produce University®, a fun, hands-on way to discover a wide selection of specialty and exotic melon varieties.
Schnucks will teach shoppers to venture beyond the basic Cantaloupe and Honeydew and try some unique gourmet melon varieties that bring sweet summer flavors to new heights.
Taking place at all Schnucks and Logli locations in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa, Tennessee and Mississippi, the 8-hour Produce University® open-house provides an opportunity for customers to see, touch, taste and ask questions about all things melon!
The June 20th session will feature six specialty U.S.A.-grown melon varieties: French Kiss®, Golden Kiss®, Hami Gold, Piel de Sapo, Crenshaw and Orange Flesh Melons. The signature melon and star of the show is the French Kiss®, a gourmet Cantaloupe and Charentais melon hybrid that boasts a brilliant orange flesh that is dense, crisp and ultra-sweet. Shoppers are welcome to drop in anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to discover the superb flavor and quality of Schnucks suite of summer melons, each with its own unique gourmet taste.

French Kiss® Melons are grown exclusively by Yuma, Arizona-based melon grower, Sandstone Marketing, a family-owned company that produces superior-tasting melons for fine retailers.
