Schnucks Mid-South Stores Make Fundraising Easy

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Just in time to capture the back-to-school buzz of excitement, Schnucks and eScrip have partnered to bring Mid-South customers one of the easiest fundraising opportunities ever.

The Schnucks Customer Card that shoppers now use for their fuel rewards program at eight area Schnucks Express fuel centers will now serve a dual purpose.  All that is required to earn funds for local not-for-profit organizations is to register the same Schnucks Customer Card with eScrip by calling 1-800-931-6258 or on-line at by clicking on the “eScrip Fundraising” icon (found under the heading of “Services”).

Once registered, every time the eScrip Customer Card is presented and scanned at the checkout of one of 13 area Schnucks stores, not only will fuel rewards be earned, but a percentage of the total grocery bill will be contributed to the customer’s designated non-profit organization (such as a school, church or youth group).

The Customer Card is not a gift card so there is no purchase required up front.  It’s not a typical loyalty card because no card is needed to save on the already-low prices at Schnucks.  Just present the card every time you shop and Schnucks will transfer accumulated contributions directly to the registered organizations every month.

According to Jerry Beck, Schnucks Mid-South director of marketing and merchandising, each cardholder can earn funds for his or her favorite qualifying organizations without doing anything extra.  “The meter starts and ends each month.  For the first $300 spent, Schnucks will contribute one percent, on the next $301-$600, Schnucks will contribute two percent, and for purchases between $601-$999, Schnucks will contribute three percent,” Beck says.

Customers who do not have a Customer Card can pick one up at any Mid-South Schnucks courtesy center and register the card as described above.  Registered organizations will receive their funds monthly, making it an on-going, year-round fundraiser.  The website also allows cardholders and organizations to track their progress.

The Schnucks Customer Card is not just for schools.  Beck says many qualifying non-profit organizations can also register to be beneficiaries of the program.  “Schnucks is a strong community partner and we are excited about the opportunities presented through the Schnucks Customer Card.  One of the best ways we can thank customers for their loyalty to us is to support the organizations important to them,” said Beck.

Out-of-pocket Schnucks Pharmacy purchases qualify for contributions as well as almost all products sold at Schnucks.  However, contributions cannot be earned on the purchase of Schnucks Gift Cards, special services, taxes, fuel purchases or merchandise purchased at Schnucks Express stores.  It is also critical that the Customer Card be scanned prior to the completion of the transaction in order for the purchase to qualify.
