Customers Are Invited To Produce University On June 14

            ST. LOUIS – Turn an ordinary meal into an extraordinary one with help and advice from the produce experts at Schnuck Markets, Inc. On Saturday, June 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Schnucks customers are once again invited to drop in for Frieda’s Produce University®, a hands-on opportunity to learn more about exciting and unique fresh fruits, veggies and gourmet items.


            During the 8-hour open house, taking place at all Schnucks and Logli locations, produce managers will be on hand to answer questions and give customers the chance to see, touch and taste a variety of fresh foods, including Asian Pears, French Kiss® Melons, Mini Sweet Peppers and Star Spangled Spuds.  Participants will be able to drop in anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to sample these products, learn about nutritional values and discover ways to incorporate the ingredients into meals.


            “Thanks to a great response during last year’s Produce University® event, we decided to offer this educational opportunity several times a year. Educating our customers about specialty produce broadens their tastes and cooking expertise, and highlights our Produce Teams as knowledgeable and dependable resources,” said Mike O'Brien, vice president of produce at Schnucks. Upcoming Produce University® sessions at Schnucks will provide the perfect opportunity to focus on seasonally available produce, such as specialty potatoes in the fall and unique citrus in the winter.
