Refunds and Returns Policy
General Returns
Refunds are accepted within seven (7) days of purchase. All refunds will be returned in the original form of payment at time of purchase.
- Please purchase only what you need. Exchanges or returns will not be accepted on products that are purchased in overabundance.
- A receipt (paper or eReceipt through our Schnucks Rewards app) is required for any return where the return amount totals $10 or more. Notwithstanding this general receipt requirement, a receipt is required for every return under the Fresh Guarantee regardless of the return amount. The return amount is calculated as the price of the item being returned or exchanged after any applicable discounts are applied and before sales tax is applied.
- Seasonal merchandise may be ineligible for an exchange and/or refund.
- WIC purchases (other than baby formula purchases) may not be returned due to USDA regulations, but they may be exchanged for identical food items if the product is defective, spoiled or was out of code at the time of sale. Baby formula purchased using WIC cannot be returned or exchanged in store due to USDA regulations.
- We reserve the right to deny returns, refunds and exchanges including, but not limited to, preventing fraud, suspected fraud or abuse.
- All refunds must be processed in accordance with state or local laws that may include additional limitations or rights.
- Other refund exclusions may apply, including, but not limited to, gift card sales.
Fresh Guarantee
We strive to ensure we are providing our customers with the freshest products possible, but we know that we cannot fully control the quality of all perishable items we sell. We also know that “freshness” is subjective and we want all our customers to be happy with their purchases of perishable items. Therefore, if you are not satisfied with the freshness of a covered perishable item, you may return it under the Schnucks Fresh Guarantee within seven (7) days of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
- A receipt (paper or eReceipt through our Schnucks Rewards app) is required for all Fresh Guarantee returns, including those that total $10 or less.
- The Schnucks Fresh Guarantee covers perishable items from the Produce, Bakery, Deli, Meat, Seafood, Dairy, and Floral departments (collectively “Fresh Departments”).
- Perishable items, as used in this Refunds and Returns Policy expressly excludes center store packaged groceries, frozen items, markdown items (items marked, typically directly on their packaging, with a reduced price or clearance designation), and other commercially packaged groceries sometimes found in or around Fresh Departments.
- The following are non-exhaustive lists exemplifying covered and non-covered items under the Schnucks Fresh Guarantee:

- Lunchmeat from the Meat Department

- Refrigerated milk

- Schnucks gooey butter cake
- Schnucks cookie cakes
Non-Covered Items
- Dried fruit
- Apple snacks
- Balloons
- Shelf-stable bacon
- Frozen meatballs
- Artisanal crackers
- Charcuterie jellies and jams
- Frozen fish sticks
- Frozen shrimp
- Shelf-stable milk
- Velveeta cheese
- Dave’s Killer Bread

- We are the sole and final decision maker in determining whether a disputed item is a covered perishable item. If you would like to know whether a particular item qualifies as a covered perishable item under this Fresh Guarantee, or for additional information regarding excluded items, you should call customer care at 314-994-4400 or ask Customer Service in-store prior to making your purchase.
Delivery and Curbside Pickup
Refunds for Schnucks Delivers (Delivery and Curbside Pickup) orders placed through the Schnucks Rewards app* and Schnucks.com/shop, including refunds under the Fresh Guarantee, are accepted within seven (7) days from the date the order was picked up or delivered.
- Except as expressly stated otherwise, the General Returns and Fresh Guarantee provisions listed above apply to Delivery and Curbside Pickup orders placed through the Schnucks Rewards app and Schnucks.com/shop.
- Refund reasons include:
- Bad replacement item(s)
- Wrong item(s)
- Missing item(s)
- Missing order
- Damaged item(s)
- Concerns with the freshness of Perishable Items (pursuant to the Fresh Guarantee detailed above)
- Extra item(s)
